Biography of Meiji HASHIMOTO

Portrait of Meiji HASHIMOTO1904 - Japanese painter Meiji HASHIMOTO was born in Shimane Prefecture.
1926 - Entered Tokyo School of Fine Arts.
1929 - Awarded at the 10th Teiten Exhibition.
1931 - Graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts. Became a pupil of Eikyu Matsuoka.
1937 - Won the Special Award at the 1st Shin-bunten Exhibition.
1938 - Won the Special Award at the 2nd Shin-bunten Exhibition.
1948 - Formed a new organization with several other artists called "Sozo Bijutsu" (Creation of Art).
1951 - Received the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts at the 7th Nitten Exhibition.
1954 - Received the Japan Art Academy Award at the 10th Nitten Exhibition.
1971 - Appointed to the member of The Japan Art Academy.
1974 - Given the Order of Culture. Designated a Person of Cultural Merit.
1991 - Meiji HASHIMOTO passed away at the age of 87.
