Biography of Kazuko GOKURA

Portrait of Kazuko GOKURA1914 - Japanese painter Kazuko GOKURA was born in Tokyo.
1936 - Awarded her first prize at the Inten exhibition for her work 'hydrangea'.
1960 - Became the Dojin of the Japan Art Institute.
1970 - Awarded the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts.
1984 - Awarded the Prime Minister Prize.
1990 - Awarded the Imperial Gift Prize of Japan Art Academy. Awarded the Japan Art Academy Prize.
1997 - Appointed to the member of The Japan Art Academy.
2002 - Selected to the Person of Cultural Merits.
2016 - Kazuko GOKURA passed away at the age of 101. Awarded with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star as well as the Senior Fourth Rank.
