Biography of Genso OKUDA

Portrait of Genso OKUDA1912 - Japanese painter Genso OKUDA was born in Hiroshima Prefecture.
1925 - Became a pupil of Kibo KODAMA.
1933 - Escaped from Kibo KODAMA.
1935 - Forgiven for becoming the pupil of Kibo KODAMA again.
1936 - Exhibited "Sannin No Josei (Three Women)" at the Bunten exhibition.
1946 - Exhibited "Wakaba No Koro" at the Nitten exhibition.
1963 - Awarded the Japan Art Academy prize.
1973 - Appointed to the member of the Japan Art Academy.
1974 - Took office as the managing director of the Nitten.
1977 - Took office as the chief director of the Nitten.
1981 - Selected to the Person of Cultural Merits.
1984 - Given the Order of Culture.
1996 - Completed the mural painting of the Ginkaku-ji (Jisho-ji temple) in Kyoto.
2003 - Genso OKUDA passed away at the age of 90.
